"PLASTERBOARD" Lisa Obbeek

Plasterboard aka gib is a hard surface made of plaster and paper. Its used for ceiling planes and walls.
Plasterboard is a smooth surface that can be painted, wall papered, tiled and plastered. Its mainly used indoors for walls and ceilings.
Plasterboard is not good with water infact water will damge your Plasterboards as plaster dissolves in water. It is long lasting as long as people know what they can and cant hang on them, you will often find holes in gib as it can break easily. The Gyproc performance range of plasterboards have been developed to provide additional performance in the key areas of fire, acoustics, thermal, impact resistance and moisture resistance, for a wide range of demanding lining applications.
Costs between $20 -$40 a sheet and it can be easily replaced or fixed.
There are a variety of plasterboard brands such as Gypoc, Knauf, Promat, Glasroc and more.

Plasterboard comes in different thicknesses.

  1. Wall insulation is usually done when the home is about to be re-painted, re-stuccoed or texture-coated. The reason for this is due to the many holes we must drill on the face of the walls. Wall insulation can not be injected through the attic area nor from underneath the home. We have to drill holes on the face of the wall, from either the exterior or interior
